GCSA of SD Awards Guidelines
A. Lifetime Achievement
- Minimum of 5 years membership in GCSA of SD. (10 pts.)
- Service to GCSA of SD by holding an elected office. (10 pts.)
- At least 20 years experience in the golf course industry as a superintendent, assistant superintendent, or full-time technician. (10 pts.)
- Participation in GCSAA by membership or annual conference attendance. (5 pts.)
- Certification by the GCSAA and holds the title "CGCS". (3 pts.)
- Active in GCSA of SD through committee appointments, research, and conference attendance. (5 pts.)
- Moral character and community involvement. (5 pts.)
· Total of 50 points possible with a score of 35 being the minimum.
· Voting committee will consist of Awards Chairman, Past President, and one Class A member
· If more than two nominations score over 35 points, committee will decide on recipient.
· Nominations will be taken from any active member of the GCSA of SD.
· Nominators will be required to give a short background of each nominee.
B. Professional Service

- At least 10 years experience in the golf course industry as a superintendent, assistant superintendent, or full-time technician. (10 pts.)

- Certification by the GCSAA and holds the title "CGCS". (3 pts.)
- Active in GCSA of SD through committee appointments, research, and conference attendance. (5 pts.)
- Moral character and community involvement. (5 pts.)

By using a system such as this I think we can reinstate a meaningful awards system.
Qualifications must be met, and if there are no qualified people, no award will be given.
